"Hello, babies. Welcome to Earth. It's hot in the summer and cold
in the winter. It's round and wet and crowded. At the outside, babies, you've
got about a hundred years here. There's only one rule that I
know of, babies--God damn it, you've got to be kind."
-Kurt Vonnegut

Do or do not...there is no try.

"The Force will be with you, always"
Laying on my bed in my jersey knit sheets while listening to the rain fall outside of my house. It taps against the roof and the leaves on the trees. Occasionally, a drop will find its way to my window and meet the glass with a slap.

"There is no singing. There is no swinging, too.
There is no dancing. There is no missing you.
There is no screaming. There is no listening, too.
There is no scheming. There is no missing you."

As bad as it sounds, if I could erase the past eight months... I would.

I'm moving forward.
Keeping my focus on things that I can control.
Turning my focus away from the things that I can't.
Keeping myself constantly busy.
Going to the beach in one week.
I think I've got it all together. For now, at least.

Even if I'm perfectly happy in my surroundings and with people I love, the thought of going home still gives me a warm feeling. Florence Alabama is like a safe haven. When I'm there, I feel like I'm in this wonderful little world with pretty bridges, sunsets, and exciting history. The buildings are all filled with safe and often closed-minded people who are all in their comfort zone. Now, I wouldn't want to be there FOREVER and I won't be there forever. But, a weekend of that stability every now and then to see my wonderful family and my beautiful friends...   Well, that sounds perfect to me.
